The Design And Implementation Of A Storage System In SkyNet HD Video Surveillance

Skynet is a kind of city video surveillance system which uses different devicessuch as image acquisition、transmission, control, display and controlling software inorder to have real-time monitoring and recording information on a fixed area. It isdesigned to satisfy cities’ public security prevention and control as well as cities’management needs. The accomplishment of the system provides modern means ofscience and technology for the social security administration, which to realize thecomprehensive control, focus on prevention, rapid response and precision strike.As the popularity of the high definition technology, it plays a more and moreimportant role in the skynet and has become the direction of the present and futuredevelopment. It has put forward higher requirements to the storage technology andsystem in order to suit the development of the HD video monitoring. Storage is themost important section among all the video surveillances. It also has a closerelationship with the development of the video surveillance system. Videosurveillance experienced the steps of simulation、digital and network, so did theapplication of storage in the video surveillance field. In recent years, the professional storage system has already possessedwidely used foundation in the high-definition video surveillance industry as the rapiddevelopment of storage technology and the falling prices of storage devices.My paper mainly aims at the development characteristics of "Skynet" HD videomonitoring system and has an analysis on ‘’Skynet" HD video surveillance storagesystem, which including the center service platform、the storage technology、transmission network and storage device and so on. The paper also gives videosurveillance storage system an overall design scheme.
