With the rapid development of China's security industry into orbit, the demand for video surveillance system is also in a significant increase. Based on the normal operation of the video surveillance system, how to use effectively management on such a large amount of data information becomes a problem that cannot be ignored. The video surveillance system involved in this project, for example, needs to store the number of video data up to 20PB. As of the large-scale data, the previous study most focused on how to reduce the data amount by video compression. But there is less study of video data storage and management efficiency. The research combined with video data characteristics and storage are even rare. In this paper, on the basis of storage research, a new type of video surveillance-specific file system to solve the problem of large-scale video data storage and management and improve efficiency of using it is proposed.In the article, the traditional video storage file systems such as NTFS, Ext3, etc. is analyzed, but because these file systems are not designed for storing video data originally. Such small-scale database liked structure is obviously redundant for video data storage. And, in this paper, a better way for video data's unique characters is found. The main research contents and results are as follows:First, the review summarizes the current storage technology programs. First introduced the use of a variety of data storage bus protocol, and the pros and cons of various protocols were analyzed and the application of occasions, and then introduces the commonly used classification of disk array technology, and finally according to characteristics of the actual application of this project, select the appropriate Basic technology to build the experimental environment of the project.Second, the introduction of the traditional file system implementation details and analyzed to find the video of which is unnecessary part of the data storage and improved, and then proved theoretically that the different ways to access disk access efficiency, select the order of which the most effective access method, combined with design features of video data storage algorithm, a new type of video storage file system - fast multimedia storage file system, and finally set up in front of the experimental conditions tested, the results show video Storage and retrieval efficiency have been significantly improved.Third, the file system is designed based on a video surveillance system to achieve critical functions. Each block of the system and make the appropriate algorithm optimization, which focused on the characteristics of monitoring data is presented for parallel storage server cache scheduling algorithm, compared with the traditional method to improve the different streams separate ways inconsistent case rate Scheduling efficiency, and then on-demand server to accept queuing algorithms have also been some improvements, thus reducing the total length of waiting time and improve the user experience.The experimental environment on the test shows that the proposed algorithm is improved on video data access performance. In sequential access condition, fast media file system is more efficient than traditional NTFS.
