Design And Implementation Of Postal Resource Management System Based On WebGIS

Internet has spread rapidly in the worldwide since the mid of1990s, the World Wide Web is becoming the global channels of information dissemination and communication. A variety of applications are produced and some portals with the service of map information are developed at that time. The true meaning of WebGIS is that GIS is applied from professional services to popular services, and it provides a convenient and effective way for geographic information sharing.A development model based on WebGIS postal resource management system is designed to achieve visual management of the postal resource in this paper. Many problems of traditional postal resource management are solved to improve the postal resource planning, for example, excessive text descriptions, the lack of geographical coordinates management, high cost, and network layout planning requires field investigation.Baidu Maps API is used for WebGIS platform development to improve server efficiency and save costs in this system, and a platform of postal resource maps suited for postal is developed with the combination of rich interface functions of Baidu Maps API and postal resource. The Ajax technology is input in order to achieve partial update of the page, namely, the client requests asynchronous map data for server. This system can not only reduce the latency of the network but also improve the performance of WebGIS application and user experience greatly. MVC design pattern is adapted to minimize coupling degree between objects in the process of system implementation and enhance system reusability.The postal resource management system based on WebGIS coordinates postal resources, optimizes processes of the postal resource management, reduces unnecessary losses of production and management, and improves operational efficiency. This system also has many advantages, for example, improvement of the reasonable resources layout, optimizing of the postal resources distribution, and improvement of core competitiveness of enterprises.
