Optical fiber communication has small volume, large capacity, high speed, stronganti-jamming capability, transmission distance and some other features, it has become thefoundation of modern communication network. What is important is that its scale isrising dramatically. However, due to the aging, various hidden danger and fiber materialcontinuously increasing, which increase the relevant personnel of maintenance tasks anddaily operations of the company. The above problems influence the efficiency ofenterprises to provide users with service and quality, which has a certain negative impacton the enterprise. Therefore, the enterprise put forward higher requirements in thestability and safety of optical cable communication resource management system.Although the traditional GIS model has played a certain role for fiber optic cabletransmission network monitoring, but it still can’t realize the accurate positioning of eachfiber resources. Based on Web GIS optical cable communication resource managementsystem not only can real-time monitoring the whole optical transmission network, butalso can track every on-the-job maintenance personnel and reduce the resourcescheduling the time spent on troubleshooting and personnel, which save the cost andimprove efficiency. In this paper, the optical fiber communication resource managementsystem based on Web GIS is studied and implemented. Firstly, through studying thedomestic and foreign research present situation of this system to prove that this systemhas good market value and promotion space; Secondly, the key technology involved inthe system development are studied, and by comparing some other technology to choosethe most suitable system application technology. This system combines the Google Mapstechnique, GPS satellite positioning technology,3g/GPRS mobile communicationtechnology, the Web GIS geographic information technology, etc. Again, this paperintroduces the system’s overall design. The main functional modules: user loginmanagement module, resource management module, routing management module, cablefiber module, integrated query module. Finally, the optical fiber communication resourcemanagement system of the dynamic and interactive graphic differences with optical fibertransmission is studied and implemented.Finally, after the certificates of the actual tests, staging and the feedback of users,the optical fiber cable communication resource management system based on Web GIShas today’s advanced technology, good application and extension interface, flexiblesoftware architecture and advanced model of system design. This system can adapt to thefuture demand for the development of optical cable communication resourcemanagement system.
