As early as the Intelligent Residential District concept proposed decades ago for the first time in domestic, they got wide public concern. However, based on the aspects of technology, investment and market factors into account, the Intelligent Residential District rarely can be truly "intelligent". Mainly as there are multiple management subsystem cell, but lack one common management platform for efficient co-ordination of the district administration. Therefore, we integrate the subsystems which are existing and independent with the heterogeneous database integration technology in this paper. Ensure the full use of existing resources, and establish an efficient and practical Intelligent Residential District Management System to complete routine management. The core of Intelligent Residential District Management System is the integration of heterogeneous database, and the increasingly sophisticated XML and Java technology provides a way for heterogeneous database integration. Therefore we establish a system based on B/S architecture with XML document as an organizational form of the data, and operate the data with Java.Compared with traditional B/S architecture, in order to deal with heterogeneous databases, we adding a mid-layer on the basis of the original three-tier architecture, the mid-layer contain Metadata Module, Disassembling-Assembling Module and Consulting Module. Because of the mid-layer, the users can be a good seamless connectivity and transparent access to the database layer.Validated, the system can complete a variety of operations on heterogeneous databases. Therefore, this method can achieve Intelligent Residential District Management System requirements for the application, and also makes Intelligent Residential District towards "smart" direction closer.
