Design And Implementation Of A Video-on-demand System Based On ASP’s Residential Sub-district

More importantly, people are easier to seekinformation what they want for the speedy development of these technologies such asBroadband Access Network, Video Information Decompression, and Audio InformationDecompression creates a platform about online Film on Demand for residents, whichhas brought remarkable changes to our work, study and life. Moreover, the broadbandnetwork access equipment and technology being perfected and interactive multimediaon demand attracted a large number of netizens to pour into the virtual network platform,especially internet platforms such as videophone, net games and FACEBOOK havebeen popular among netizens. In this context, This paper forward to develop VODsystem Based on the need of residential sub-district.The design of the VOD system mainly combined ASP technology with the relatedtheory of Streaming Media Transmission Technology (SMTT). Besides, the VODsystem is about on-line multimedia films, video and courseware etc. by web on LAN ofresidential sub-districts. Residents’ information registration, the addition, modification,deletion, online inquiry and online play of film documents and multimedia video can betruly implemented by the VOD system. Based on the application of ASPNET, SOL andC#, the VOD system testifies that the interface interaction is strong and the operation issimple.During the development of VOD System, this paper does the following work: Thepaper analyzes importance and necessity to community residents, Based on this, thepaper draws valid conclusions, and dicide to develop the system based on ASPNET+SQL Server2005. Based on the investment of business processes and modularization,the system can be divided to system management module, movie management module,comment management module, announcement management module and usermanagement module. Then this paper uses data flow diagram to design each module indetailed. Finally this paper carried out the system implementation and testing.Nowadays, the system has been applied to a residential sub-district, It has entered running in stage and getted better effect. It garnered1000pageviews every day.,andpeople can access the Vod System smoothly based on cell bandwidth. The VOD systemEnrich people’s spiritualand cultural life.
