With China’s rapid urbanization and industrialization development, environmentalpollution, especially sewage treatment problem is getting people’ attention. There aremany kinds of sewage treatment process methods, sequencing batch reactor activatedsludge process(SBR) is widely used in small and medium sewage treatment systems inrecent years, its automatic control system is the premise of its flexible operation, andrestricting an important factor in the efficiency of wastewater treatment. Most ofautomatic control systems of SBR are currently based on PID control, which ensure thestability of control process and lack enough flexibility, that affect the control effect tosome extent, so it’s important for improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment todesign and research improvement measures of SBR process’ automatic control strategy.In this paper, the control system in aeration is designed and researched based onthe analysis and comparison of control strategy in SBR process. At first, this paperanalyzes the PID parameters’ role and significance in adjustment process, and designs afuzzy controller for the adjustment of PID parameters. Then a fuzzy PID controller isdesigned for the aeration system, which use dissolved oxygen concentration asdetectable quantity and controlled variable, and control it by the aeration regulation inblower speed. Finally, the control system is improved and analysed in the MATLABsimulation environment, and research control effect of the designed fuzzy PID controlsystem by the comparison with the conventional PID control.Sewage treatment process generally have strong time-varying and nonlinearcharacteristics, especially in the water treatment environment that quality and flowchange frequently, and conventional PID control with fixed parameters is ineffective.This paper designs and studies the fuzzy PID system, which applies real-time correctionon PID control parameters by fuzzy inference. That improves the rapidity and flexibilityof control based on the stability of the original PID control, and the simulation resultsalso verified the improvements of control effect. Automatic control strategy is one ofresearch priorities and key factors in SBR process, so design and study the stable andefficient control system can reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency ofthe sewage treatment system.
