TD-SCDMA is the first communication standard which is led by China and has been recognized worldwide. With the development and improvement of the TD-SCDMA network, the step of evolution for TD-LTE is faster. Nowadays, the TD-LTE network has been changing from large-scale technical experiment to pre-commercial. In the future, there will be more and more multi-mode (TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA) terminals entering the market, which lead to a large demand for terminal RF conformance test.Multi-band and multi-mode terminal RF conformance testing is an important part of terminals network accessing testing and international certification before the terminals enter the market. This paper focuses on researching and developing a set of TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA multi-band and multi-mode terminal RF conformance test system, helping to fill the domestic multi-band and multi-mode terminal RF test vacancy.According to3GPP associated standards, this paper make a further research on the TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA terminal RF conformance test basic principles and methods. Then we introduce a feasible multi-band and multi-mode terminal RF conformance test scheme, mainly including hardware and software test system design. The hardware design mainly elucidate the design principles of RF interface switchbox, at the same time, it illustrates the structure and function of the RF interface switchbox and the properties of the selected microwave components briefly. The software design introduces four software layers from vertical structure and four function modules from horizontal structure on the basis of software requirements analysis. Then the paper details the design principle and realization method of four function modules including instrument control module、user interface module、test module and data processing module. Through taking some examples for debugging the test case, the issue verifies the properties of the automated test system. Finally, we summarize the research content and describe the further work of the next stage.
