6LoWPAN is a new kind of internet of things technology. Many manufacturers and scholars are working on the research and implementation of6LoWAPN. So conformance testing of6LoWPAN devices is becoming more and more important. But the active conformance testing method, which is generally used, sometimes cannot reflect the real properties of6LoWPAN devices. Passive testing can have a test in real network, without human intervention and developing test cases. Passive testing can be used as important supplement of the active testing, even replace active testing. But the study on passive conformance testing is rare. In this thesis, we studied the current passive testing technology, designed a passive conformance testing method of6LoWPAN and developed this testing system. Experiments demonstrated the validity of the testing method and the testing system. Our work consists of the following parts: 1) Study the current network protocol passive testing method and technology. Analyze the design and implementation method of the current passive testing systems;2) Analyze the related RFCs of6LoWPAN, Extract the passive conformance testing requirements; Design a suitable passive testing method for6LoWPAN according to its characteristics;3) Design and implement the test platform, including passive testing logic with TTCN-3, codec and adapter with C language and6LoWPAN sniffer with TeleosB hardware platform.The passive conformance testing method designed in this thesis made some exploration in the field of Internet of things testing and provided a new thought in6LoWPAN testing.It is meaningful to the6LoWPAN conformance testing.
