With the rapid development of science and technology, the application of theradar technology has covered many aspects of production and life. Radar is mainlyapplied in security protection such as car radar, collision avoidance radar and so on.But the development of radar technology is still subject to the conditions of high costas well as technical requirements. Therefore, in industrial production, radar has notbeen applied on a large scale. Thus, improvement of ranging precision, lower cost andmore reliability enhancement become the main research factor of many scholars athome and abroad. In recent years, due to the wide use of EDA technology and theprompt development of field programmable logic device FPGA, radar signalprocession system and its method have obtained great development space andprospect.In this design, deep research and understanding of practical radar hardwaresystem is firstly implemented. Based on consulting a large number of domestic andforeign literature and technical manuals, scheme of a radar level meter based onFPGA is raised in this paper, which can promote ranging accuracy, system flexibilityand reliability of radar system.First, ranging principle and system construction of radar level meter areintroduced. Then, to solve the problem of noise and clutter in radar echo wave singal,a generalized S transform is used to filtering and reducing noise. And according to therequirements of radar system, taking advantage of FPGA, electrical controlled voltageis designed to control the modulation port of VCO. At last, detailly analyzed theprinciple of singal collection and FFT of radar singal procession sytem. Realizationmethods and simulation result analysis are also showed in this paper.The simulation result proved the ranging result of the scheme has little error.FPGA is used to complete the high requirement of real-time and accuracy of radarlevel system. It can satisfy the high speed of analog-to-digital conversion, fast Fouriertransform calculation and requirements of high precision.
