Ranging is the most essential function of radar. High-precision ranging, especially the short range, is an important application field of civil radar. The radar using LFMCW (Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) technology is a comprehensive system which acquires information of distance and velocity through frequency modulation. Because of the advantages of no range blind area, high range resolution, low signal power and simple structure, LFMCW radar has attracted more and more attention recently. The theories, key technologies and applications develop rapidly.Based on numerous research works and analyzing for data acquisition for data acquisition system of LMFCW radar, we put forward a design project about radar. The beat signal of the radar after filtering, automatic gain control amplifier and then is input into the computer after the use of A/D acquisition card for signal acquisition and processing, converted into FFT spectrum and then measured through the frequency spectrum, according to the frequency and distance calculate the relationship between the measured distance, and convert the distance information into the current of 4/20mA output at the same time. This paper's softwar??e object-oriented software technology and modular design method , use the C language and the development environment of Visual C++6.0, and call the windows system application programming, to realize the acquistion of beat signal, storage and processing of data. The experimental results had indicated the feasibility and accuracy for the project and method of this signal processing system. And it had achieved the anticipated request. Besides measuring the distance, this system also could test the radar probe real time.
