Different from commercial and industrial, also differ from the purely traditionalservices industry, restaurant catering belong to the tertiary industry in our modernsocial architecture, which includes food production and processing, food retail andlabor service corresponded. Ever science the reform and opening up,we got greatsuccess in the economic developing. So the cantering industry has also welldeveloped, with various forms booming up ever science, it has developed differentkinds of taste, store format and organization structure across our mother land, whichhas widely broaden our daily life and entertainment styles.According to the national statistic agency announced that until2007year the total starhotel number had reached to14326. But due to the outbreak of financial crisis in2008which started from financial world and then spread to the industrial world, thecatering industry had suffering its impact inevitably. In order to get rid of theeffectiveness of the crisis, the restaurants in our country start to emphasis theimportance of the brand advantage, expanding the scale of their enterprises and withthe method chain operation and franchise starting to improve their turnover smoothly.The trend of booming up different kinds of brand store, specialty shops and wellknow catering enterprise brand becoming quite obvious and these restaurantsbecoming well welcome among customers.In our paper will develop a restaurant ordering automatic management system whichwould adopt client-server(C/S) architecture with the aim to help enrich the cateringenterprise own management pattern and improve the customer consumptionexperience. Together with the running of the system, it will replace our traditionalway of work stingily, get rid of some part of waiters’ job, save the enterprise’s cost insome respect alone with make the customers feel more comfortable while enjoy thefood. The major function modules of the system include:1) Customer side ordering module. In this module the system show customers thedishes in the system with user friendly interface with multi-method way of indexingthem and allow them submit an order, what’s more, it also support customers check their ordered dishes preparing state at any time and check out.2) Manager side information management module. In this module the manger mainlymanage two kinds of information, the first one is the three kinds of restaurantemployee information involved to the system. The second one is the dish informationmanage module which supply user interface to add, delete and update operation to thedishes.3) Cook side dish preparing state management module. In this module the systemshow all the dish to in cook so that the cook will feedback the current state of the dishin time in case customers cheek that.4) Accountant side statistic module. In this module the system offer a simple statisticfunction that statistic the sale quantity and sale account of four kinds of dishes andwhat’s more visualize the result by statistic diagram.
