Nowadays with the rapid development of network informatization, the informationizationdegree of postal service increases constantly, the online businesses become diversified, and the datavolumes of various production systems grow. Although the network of Suzhou Post Bureau hadupdated several times, the original three level four layer network structure can’t fit the needs of thenew business, which is embodied in the low rate of handling the business in the front of deskcomputers, the low level security of network and the poor ability of disaster relief and so on.Theentire network framework cannot meet the tendency that the business will become bigger andstronger. To this end, in order to solve the problems existing in the network, and provide powerfulsupport for the development of postal enterprises, Suzhou Post Bureau puts forward a project planabout the convergence of information network.Based on the background of Suzhou postal network, and through tracking and researching thenetwork convergence technology, combining the Suzhou postal service business development andmanagement through the analysis of the status and trends, the article details the description ofSuzhou postal network transformation program, each county bureau linked network topologyreconstruction scheme, network data security and traffic control scheme. At last, the articledescribes the implementation process of Suzhou postal network convergence project and theoperating result after the network’s convergence.With the completion of this project, Suzhou postal network topology becomes simplified. Thehierarchy is flattening and the security and scalability of the network have improved, especiallylower the status of county center machine room. The project has reduced the risks and bottlenecksof the original network layers and has guaranteed the safe and stable operation of the networkcommunication lines. For the net point, the benefit of this transformation is to enhance the networkspeed of response. For the network management sector, the transformation can effectively controlproduction work flow, and easily manage and maintain the network devices.
