The Research And Realization Of The Network Management Technology In Postal Service System

After several years'significantly decreasing of traditional postal businesses because of continuing developing of Internet, leaders had eventually realized that traditional postal businesses must update old mode to the new one immediately. When transforming, there are many emergency problems for modern postal business to deal with, such as searching and exploring new business. After several years constructed, civil postal integrated businesses network was initially established and had been playing the main role in supporting postal businesses. However the complex structures of this network made the maintaining tasks very hard. So the management of postal network was naturally focused nearly years.Jiangsu Postal Integrated Businesses Network Management System (JPIBNMS) was a project funded by Jiangsu Postal System and aided the goals of efficiently administrating and analyzing and detecting and optimizing and restructuring all of the network resources. This paper is supported by this project.The thesis introduces the main parts of network management including structure and infrastructure and protocol. After analyzing practical environment and the candidates, we decided choosing HP OpenView developed by HP Ltd. as our network management platform. However, HP OpenView is a system with very complex operations and English interfaces, and its reports and statistical functions cannot meet the individual needs of our system, so we must underlay second programming upon it. After hard works, we had developed a data displaying system and successfully constructed JPIBNMS armed by functions including data gathering and performance management and configurations management and maybe most important faults management. At last this paper briefly describes the main components of system and discusses the shortcomings.
