Radar is a high-tech system which contains modem signal processing technology,microelectronics technology, computer technology and other modern electronic science andtechnology. In the various components of the radar system, radar signal is one of the mostimportant parts. Because the radar transmitter signal not only determines the method ofprocessing echo signal, but also directly affect the resolution, accuracy and anti-jammingperformance of radar systems and other major tactical indicators. In addition, with modernhigh-tech warfare radar system requirements continue to increase, modem radar signalprocessing system with the characters of generalization, standardization and modularizationis turning to the embedded parallel processing system with characters of multi-band, multi-polarization, multiple angle of incidence, multiple working mode and multi-platform.In theory, this paper describes the research of radar signal. From time domain andfrequency domain terms, this paper analyzes the common radar signal. And it describes thecharacteristics and applications of these radar signal. Then, from OpenVPX bus protocol, thispaper has established OpenVPX architecture processing system model. Finally this paperdecribes the characteristics of OpenVPX architecture signal processing system.In terms of realization, this paper decribes the function and project background of real?time signal processing system.Then, according to OpenVPX spectification, this paperpresents areal-time signal processing system based on OpenVPX architecture, and decribesthe system of uints, high-speed interconnect design and hardware board, and decribes the keytechnology of digital frequency synthesis technology and synchronization technology. Thispaper describes the reference signal associated with the hardware and sotfware. Finally, wetested the reference signal. Atfer testing, the radar reference signal source is stable andreliable. The signal meets the technical requirements and meet the needs of real-time signalprocessing system.
