With the development of modern weapon and modern wingmanship, higherperformances of radar are required such as action range, resolution, measure precisionand so on. Monopulse tracking radar is most widely used because of its bestperformance in measuring range, velocity and angle. We can obtain the better measuringresult by using conventional radar combining with secondary radar. Digital signalprocessing is the core technology of radar. Theory analysis, simulation, hardwareimplementation and functional verification test of the monopluse secondary radar arelisted in the paper.Firstly, the basic concept of monopulse tracking radar are introduced in this paper, the dissertation presents the principle of range, velocity, angle measurement andtracking of monopulse radar. Secondly, according to the demand of the monopulsesecondary tracking radar system, we select the signal type, and then present theoreticalanalysis and the simulation to each part of signal processing module, including themethod of modulation, generation of PN sequence, digital orthogonal demodulation, pulse compression, moving target detection, GO-CFAR algorithm, distance measuringand tracing, calculating angle error, and so on. Simulating results are listed here.Based on theory analysis, signal processing system of monopulse tracking radarwith higher performance of sum-difference based on multiple ADSP-TS101 chips isdeveloped. Design of parallelization and independent modularity programming areadopted in this system. We can realize high speed transmission and real-time largecapability parallel processing by combing the hardware platform and softwareprogramming together. At the end of paper, the test method of signal processing module is given and thedata of flying test is analyzed. Testing result shows that the system satisfys therequirement and has the higher efficiency.
