Study On Relevance Pattern And Revelation Mechanism Of University Library Services

With the rapid development of information technology, library functions and servicemodes have changed fundamentally. With literature resource as the core, traditional libraryresource organization doesn’t focus on the demands of users which limited the value oflibrary. In order to improve library’s competitiveness through library service innovation inthe semantic web environment, the relevance pattern and revelation mechanism inuniversity library services are studied by focusing on user demand in this paper.In this paper, researches are made about the organization, integration, relationship offour aspects including library’s services, resources, human resources and locationresources, with the library service relevance as the core. Emphasis is laid on the relevancepatterns of library service and resource in the semantic web environment, as well as theuser-oriented intelligent revelation of service resource, mainly including the followingcontent:1. Definition, classification and ontology modeling for university library services.At first, the characteristics of library’s services and service resources are analyzed todetermine their concepts, definition and scope. What is more, the elements and propertiesare studied to make out the organization and description pattern of service resources.Finally, the ontology based of university library service is constructed.2. Research inrelevancy pattern of university library services. On the one hand, the internal relevance ofthe university library service ontology is studied, which includes digging the relevanceabout classes, concepts and properties of the ontology, supplementing with ontologydefinition, relevancy model and algorithm to achieve it. On the other hand, the relevancebetween library’s resources and external web resouces is analyzed, which includesassociation with the external LOD Datasets based on the linked data technology and thefurther design about relevance mechanism with external systems, in order to obtain othersystems’ services and functions directly.3. Research in intelligent revelation of serviceresources. It is mainly about research in new ways of revealing library’s services and service resources combining the concrete cases, involving the popular semiautomatic pagetechnology currently and the automatic, intelligent semantic web technology.In this paper, a relevancy pattern and revelation mechanism for university libraryservices is creatively put forward, hoping to promote the development of semantic web.However, due to time limitation, there is a lot of work which is needed to be furtherresearched and perfected.
