Research On Knowledge Service Of Library Based On Linked Data

Information manifests an explosive growth in Internet age followed by information noise.it is difficult to find the needed information from the complex information.So,how to quickly and accurately obtain the information resources from the mass of information resources,maximize the elimination of noise information,and offer different knowledge products which can directly solve problems to different people are keys to the transformation of information age to the knowledge economy age.Providing knowledge services to the point rather than mere information services,is the inevitable requirement of the development of knowledge economy age.As the center of a variety of literature resources,digital resources,information resources,libraries are important prop for offering knowledge services to users.But weak links among information and difficulties of obtaining information have become the main obstacle of library knowledge service.It brings much limitation to knowledge retrieval,knowledge discovery,knowledge recommendation and knowledge navigation.As the best practice of the semantic web,linked technology has become the hot research topic in academic circles since it has been proposed,especially in the field of library and information science.The linked data emphasis the correlation among data and can support structured semantic information that the computer can understand,which provide technical support for high quality library knowledge service.Although there is a lot of research about the applications of linked data in libraries,Most of the them are concentrated on the level of information resources' integration.This paper put forward a library knowledge service model based on linked data on the basis of the previous study.The purpose is to analyze the specific content of library knowledge services based on linked datain-depth.Firstly,on the analysis of problems of traditional library knowledge services,this paper introduces the concept and related technology of linked data and analyzes applications of linked data in libraries.Then it builds a knowledge service model of library based on linked data.This model is divided into three layers from bottom to top including publication layer,integration layer and service application layer.And it gives detailed analysis about every layer in this paper.This paper has introduced the impact of linked data on four types of library knowledge service including knowledge retrieval,knowledge discovery,knowledge recommendation and knowledge navigation in detail,and put forward the framework of different service.Finally,this paper 's content has been verified by quoting the VIVO system of Cornell University's library.
