Since1983, CCTV Spring Festival Gala has been held for31years(1983-2013) to accompany people one after another New Year, and it hasalready become the1.3billion Chinese people celebrate the New Year folk,became New Year’s Eve stay up to a unique cultural landscape. As a strongcast, ratings huge crowd, broadcasting the longest and most widelyinfluential television show, as an effort to build a national TV media feastof art, from the initial planning to the final evening broadcast presentation,the show has always been become a global concern of the Chinese,31years for television viewers, it brings great joy and many countlessunforgettable memories.Since the Spring Festival Gala founded at the beginning, there havebeen cultural interaction and cooperation between the Mainland, Taiwan,Macau and Hong Kong in the celebrating, universal party atmosphere withmusic, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau compatriots got together, family,friendship, and homesickness mixed in the New Year’s Eve night and allemotions sublimated in this variety show, and highlighted Chinesetraditional culture in this remarkable moments. Spring Festival Gala alsobecame a literary connection and communication bridge of the Mainland,Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong, and a universal culture window.Recently, the Spring Festival Gala ran into controversy and got moreand more criticism and questioning. Deviating from the audience demandof the art show, it became a propaganda, aesthetic, commercial, andentertainment contradiction mixture. What’s more, it is difficult to maintain the balance between artistic and technical, commercial interestsand aesthetic. After these years, it is hard to look for to the glory anylonger, emerging from the boutique to a shortage of masterpiece, fromactive innovation to passive cater. The Spring Festival Gala is struggling tomove on, under the pressure of social development and the impact of fiercecompetitions, which also exposes some common problems anddevelopment bottleneck in the programs of Hong Kong, Macau andTaiwan in the Spring Festival Gala. Their culture is an important part ofChinese culture, and these programs are indispensable dishes of SpringFestival Gala culture dinner. Regardless of literary characteristics of theprogram itself, or its inherent cultural sense, it all have shown that theresearch is valuable.The core of this study is mainly aimed at programs of Hong Kong,Macau and Taiwan in the Spring Festival Gala. It is divided into three parts:the society background of the Spring Festival Gala, the history of culturaldevelopment of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan; the case analysis ofdifferent programs types; the summary of existing problems and shortcome; the suggestions to the programs development.
