Following China’s reform and development, China’s higher education area alsoexperiences high growth development, and as higher education becomes more and morepopular and advances into the popularization stage, the quantity of students in highereducation schools embraces a booming period. As graduates’ employment situation becomestougher and tougher, it does not only raise higher requirements to fresh graduates’ personalabilities but also to career development department and school leaders’ decision abilities,therefore it is an urgent requirement for higher education institutes to be able to stipulatecareer development guidelines based on real situation. Under the background of growingdevelopment of computer technology, information processing technology develops more andmore mature, and various information processing systems targeting at career developmentfield have emerged. Current systems merely use rough matching method and data capacityemployed are also limited; however, in analysis we need to go into more details and putdifferent elements influencing employment directions into consideration, so as to stipulatecareer guidelines more effectively.Based on real situation and software engineering theories, this thesis, targeting at actualcareer management system’s goals and functions, designs a career projection system for highereducation institutes, of which the core method is to construct decision tree and the function isto analyze and project fresh graduates’ employment information. This system’s functionsinclude projecting fresh graduates’ employment situation, summarizing relevant data ofemployment directions, searching graduates’ data which are input in the system, and alsosummarizing graduates’ employment situation and retrieving data. This system is built uponprevious graduates data, and then preprocesses data to get the data sample for analysis, andfinally construct the decision tree via C4.5algorithm and do the statistics analysis to previousemployment data using regression method, so as to get the projection of fresh graduates’employment directions and also apply decision tree to discover different preferences towardsinstitutes that graduates from different region have; therefore, it can provide valuable referenceinformation to higher education schools’ career department and leaders and can provide career guidelines based on instructive data.This thesis aims at improving higher education schools’ employment situation, and thehigher education institute career management system proposed based on decision tree plays animportant role in analyzing fresh graduates’ employment situation and providing specificinstructions and management policies, and finally it applies decision tree method in actualcareer instruction tasks and by analysis and design of decision tree algorithm, it builds up acareer projection system for higher education institutes.
