With the advent of the Internet of things and the rapidly development of computertechnology, internet communication techniques and embedded technologies, aprofound technological reform is being experienced in the industrial control area. Localdata monitoring systems with independent and simple functions are being replaced bythe highly integrated remote data monitoring systems that can form the internet torealize coordinative work, which contributes to the improvement of the resourceutilization ratio and the safety of the systems. The integration of wireless sensornetwork and traditional communication network is realized by the gateway of internetof things, which is the core of the new monitoring system, and allowed different typesof networks to conduct protocol exchange, which offers the platform to the remotemanagement and monitoring over the underlying devices. This research is dedicated tointroduce a design and technology about the gateway of internet of things which is lowpower dissipation, supports multi-communication protocols and can be used in thecomplicated industrial context. A reasonable solution is also offered in this research tothe path planning issue when applying the gateway.Firstly, the status quo of the literatures in China and the world on concept ofinternet of things, intelligent gateway and wireless sensor network technology areintroduced in this research. Then, the current gateway products for the internet of thingsare investigated. The demand towards the functions and performance are taken intoaccount and the comparative analysis among various communicative ways, embeddedcore microprocessors, and embedded operating system in terms of performance andfeatures is conducted in the research. As a result, a design based on embeddedtechnique and gateway system of internet of things is raised.Afterwards, the design of hardware and software is described in this research. Theintelligent gateway system is divided into three sub-systems including the gatewayplatform, the collection terminal and the monitoring center. In this design, ARMmicroprocessors, Marvell PXA310and STM32L151are taken as core by the system toformulate the hardware platform of the gateway and the collection terminal. Thesoftware design has been conducted based on the design of the hardware system. Thegateway platform is designed based on the embedded Linux operating system andformulated the drivers to devices and the application processing program. The operation of the hardware devices is packaged by drivers and used by the applications.All the tasks can be managed and dispatched by the applications based on themultithreading mechanism. Three monitoring platforms can be used by the monitoringcenter including the embedded Web, the Java Web and the VC client.What follows is an analysis on the path planning issue during the application ofgateway system. A path optimization plan based on two internet parameters and threealgorithms (Bellman-Ford, Dijkstra and Floyd) is put forward by this research whichbuilt on the shortest path algorism emulated result and the exact features of gatewaynetwork. This plan is realized in the gateway system and subjected to verification.Finally, the entire debugging process and result of this gateway system aredescribed in this research, and the feasibility and accuracy of the intelligent gatewaysystem plans are fully demonstrated.In this thesis, many figures and tables are used abundantly to explain design andimplementation process of the Internet of ThingsGateway system. It is much easier forthe readers to understand the system integral architecture, hardware and softwareimplementation process.
