With the improvement of living standard,it brings forward thedemands of high speed and high precision for clothing manufacturing. Itis an inevitable tendency to cut clothing using CNC(Computer numericalcontrol) Garment Cutting Machine instead of traditional manual work. Atpresent, the market of CNC Garment Cutting Machine is monopolized byseveral large foreign enterprises. It is significant for China which has1.3billion people to own related technologies.In this paper, a control system of CNC Garment Cutting Machine isdesigned and implemented. The main contents are as follows:1. This dissertation presents the overall design scheme of CNC-GCM(CNC Garment Cutting Machine)’s control system. Based on the analysisof technical requirements of system, the mechanical design scheme isgiven, which includes cutting method, feeding transmission system andknife rotating system. Selection of motion controller is introduced afterthe comparison of some controllers. Software development platform andHCI are selected. Finally, the overall scheme is presented.2. The hardware design of CNC-GCM’s control system is designed.Firstly, this paper presents the hardware structure of the system and itsinternal relationship. Secondly, motion controller GTS-800-PV-PCI andits application are presented. Lastly, this paper designs bristle bed andvacuum system according to its technological characteristics.3. The software design of CNC-GCM’s control system. Firstly, thispaper puts forward the frame of software control system, including fileanalysis module, motion abstraction module, core frame module, usersetting interface and graphical interface. Then the application of the classframe and related design pattern technology in this system are explained.Lastly, the whole function of this system is described by browsing each interface of this software.4. The solutions of cutting path optimization CNC-GCM’s controlsystem are given. Firstly, single cutting knife path optimization problemis discussed. This article builds a TSP model and use ant colonyalgorithm(ACO) to solve this problem. The simulation result comparisonis also given. Because of adding little segment weight, it decreases thetotal cutting distance. Then, mutiple cutting knife path optimizationproblem is discussed. This article builds a VRP model and also use ACOto solve it. As this article considers the waiting distance and improvesACO by adding a new part in state transition, it makes knifes’ cuttingdistances more balanced. Therefore the overall cutting time decreases.The simulation result comparison is also given.5. The solutions of key problems in CNC-GCM’s control system aregiven. Aiming at the problem of curve fitting in file analysis, arc fitting,algorithm is studied, and algorithm implementation scheme is presented.The result is given after experiment. Problems of cutting details includingthe size of knife, snipping processing, knife turning processing and knifeintelligence, the organization of data structure and informationtransmission across different module and different programming languageare studied and solutions are given.
