Modern farming is a hot research area nowadays. The industry of cow breeding is one ofthe important parts of the livestock husbandry. The development of the cow breeding is animportant measure to improve the diet structure of people and promote the living quality andenhance the body’s physique. Cow breeding can be considered as the core of the moderncountry’s agriculture. While in our country, it is still backward in technology. One representationis the low level of information. The subject aims at making use of technology like audioanalyzing and low energy consuming network to provide the digital cow breeding with a way tocollect and analyze data with high efficiency.For the industry of cow breeding, the situation of the cows’ regurgitation means a lot for theguidance of breeding cow. The goal of this paper is to explore a set of easy and efficient platformthat can collect the information of the cows’ regurgitation and then analyze it automatically.Firstly, the audio recognizing algorithm for cows’ regurgitation is elaborated. Besides, thenetwork of ANT, whose topology structure is suitable with the cow farms, is also analyzed. Therealization of the system, both software and hardware, based on the nRF51822chip is illustratedas well. Finally, the plan is turn out to be feasible according to the experimental data.As with the recognition of the sound of the cows’ regurgitation, the analysis methods intime-domain is used in this paper. The features that consist of regurgitation, chew and swalloware extracted from the sound samples of the cows when they are eating or regurgitating. Theaudio processing tool kit within Matlab is used in the research. In this way, audio signals areanalyzed and processed. By utilizing the function of data relay with the nRF51422chip, the ANT wireless network is setup with the topology of tree aiming at the features of cows’ distribution in the cow farms. Thedata of sensor nodes is transferred to the central node in the way of sharing channels. Thepractical network determined in advance operates more efficiently than the complicated meshnetwork. In addition, the cost of setup and maintenance of the network is low as well. The SoCof nRF51422is released by Nordic corporation and based on the ANT protocol. And low powerconsumption is one features of the chip, which makes it fit with the applicant situation thatbattery is used as power well.
