The highway bridge is the national important infrastructure which is also anessentialfacility to guarantee the circulation of commodity. It is important because notonly theunimpeded road but also people’s life and property are related to it. But afterthe highwaybridge is used, its function is degenerated because of natural erosion.Therefore, it is importantto develop a practical management system to maintain thebridge.On the basis of studying bridge’s structure and disease, analyzing questions ofthe extantmanagement system, summarizing the need of bridge maintenance, thisarticle proposes amethod based on network and database and set up a software modelbased on UML with thetechnique of OOA. In addiction, the most popular N B/Ssoftware system is used to reduce thedifficulty and cost of the system upgrade,maintenance and development. N layer consist ofuser behavior layer, business rulelayer, data denotation layer and data store layer. Data storelayer uses relation databasetechnique and XML technique. Business rule layer encapsulates therule of system.Data denotation layer defines the data structure of system and studies thedefinitioncode, store control and security model and so on. We used a lot of advanced waysinwhich the operate system is WindowsXP professional, the Database Server is XMLand MSSQL Server2000, the platform is J2EE and the language isJava to develop andget themanagement system of highway bridge. Some concrete method aboutprotection andprediction are developed. Above all of this, our system can satisfy thebasic requirement of theactual highway bridge management.Modules are on-line, and running successfully now.
