The research aims to meet the needs of professional workers, such as landscape designers, constructers,maintainers, on technical knowledge bias building a landscape plants database.The network database contains basic knowledge, ecological environment, growth habits,seasonal aspects,planting and maintenance key points of landscape plants, which aims to provide scientific principles for actual application.The database is designed for landscape plants professional workers all over of China. First of all, these two factors, administrative division and population over300thousand, are chosen to locate the database service objects. As a result,296Chinese cities are chosen to constitute the geographical structure of the database. As an example, the paper builds a dynamic sample database on306species of common plants in Harbin. The sample database contains dynamic seasonal aspects of306species of common plants and NCS standard color card.In order to provide better service for professional workers, the database is designed with a layered catalogue, people-oriented interface and inquiry functions. The database covers306species of206genera of82families landscape plants whose growth rules, ecological habits and color characteristics are collected by field observing, photograph and compare with NCS standard color card. All related data will be scienfically analyzed by ornamental characteristics, temperature correlation and difference on seasonal aspects. The database will provide scientific principles for landscape configuration.The database unit contains:basic knowledge (species, genera and scientific name), growth habit (growth rules, morphological characteristics), ecological habit (light, temperature, soil, water, air humidity), ornamental characteristics(leaf, flowers, fruits, branches and trunk), morphology (root layout, shape) functional characteristics (salinity, resistance),physical characteristics (diameter, crown breadth, height, under branch height), seasonal characteristics(leaf color, flower color, fruit color, autumn leaf color replication standard), key points of design and construction maintenance (survival difficulty, planting density, technical points), environmental adaptability (natural and functional distribution) and so on. The landscape plants application database contains of33units in10main sorts of common plants in Harbin.There are four levels of the database’s structure, which can be realized by running MongoDB. The database platform is designed with a humanized interface, inquiry,update and post-maintaining functions. The MongoDB server can be operated on Linux, Windows, or IOS system of both32-bit and64-bit.All these.aim to make sure that landscape workers can easily acquire accurate and credible information and share these information on Internet. Harbin landscape plants database of dynamic seasonal characteristics and NCS color values are established in the following ways. Firstly, define local time length of four different seasons in Harbin according to relative laws. Secondly, collect ornamental characters of306species of plants in the interval of3or5days. Thirdly, analyze these information and make conclusions. In Harbin,the growth of leaves and flowering are actively correlated with the highest temperature and negatively correlated with diurnal temperature in spring. The colors of leaves distribute in69NCS standard colors and flower’s colors distribute in62NCS standard ones. The blossom is actively correlated with the highest temperature and negatively correlated with diurnal temperature in summer. The colors of leaves distribute in96NCS standard colors. Flower’s colors distribute in100NCS standard ones. And fruit’s colors distribute in14NCS standard ones. The color changing is negatively correlated with the highest temperature and actively correlated with diurnal temperature in autumn. The colors of leaves distribute in108NCS standard colors. Flower’s colors distribute in7NCS standard ones. And fruit’s colors distribute in36NCS standard ones.By cluster analysis of growth rhythm and color character of seasonal ornamental traits in six typical times, it can be convinced that there are27types of landscape plants’ colocation in spring,15types in summer and6types in autumn. These optimizations can be applicated in residential area, flower beds, flower borders, gardens and other landscape nodes,by which a better sequence of seasonal aspects in dimension of space and time will emerge.
