Design And Implementation Of The Enterprise Instant Messenger Application Based On Android

In recent years, with the development of communication and hardware techniques in the mobile field, people start to depend on mobile devices and the mobile Internet, which benefits people’s daily life, and helps a lot in studying and working. The data shows that the shipments of smart phone in China will be over4.5billion in2014, and more than75%of which will be Android mobile phone. Additionally, the development of smart devices leads to the rising of mobile office. As for the author’s company, the mobile office app released in2012has been downloaded10577times up to November,2013, including5380iOS devices, and5197Android devices. On this basis, the convenience of mobile office improved the efficiency of staffs anytime and anywhere.The easier mobile communication than before has also affected people’s life. In2013, the users of WeChat have increased to6billion, which becomes the most popular instant messenger application in smart phone. As for enterprises, the external instant messenger app cannot meet the needs of privacy, security, and some special functional requirements of enterprise communication. Therefore, developing the enterprise IM app is extremely urgent.This thesis solved the problem of developing the Android IM app for staffs based on security, privacy and specialty in order to meet the requirements of daily work. There are six modules of this IM app:enterprise SMS, enterprise Email, enterprise cloud search engine, contact, settings and user center, and login. The previous five modules include following functions:sending Internet text for enterprise contacts; sending SMS for contact who has not installed the app; sending and receiving emails; searching cloud contact through name and tag; managing and searching group contacts; displaying who is calling. The author has participated in designing and developing of those six modules.The app has been implemented in company and can totally meet the requirements of daily works without support of other apps. The excellent human-computer interaction provides better user experience for staffs. Futhermore, the design and implement of this app offers a new thinking for mobile social networking:combining the enterprise cloud and social communication to realize the convenience and intelligence of business process, and then improving the skill of information processing of a corporation.
