Nowadays, more and more enterprises have realized that employees are the vital and key factor to win the fierce competition in the market. But how to efficiently manage employees is still a question for the entrepreneurs. As an intelligent management method for enterprise to manage employee information, labor management system has been introduced to meet the management requirements of the entrepreneurs. Its high degree of resource sharing, quick speed of information query and strong personnel supervision mechanism features could produce high economic benefits for the enterprises.During the internship, the author participated in a project to design and develop a labor management system for an American company-MVM which provides security service for many famous companies. The system integrates many modules, including employee information management module, contract information management, scheduling module, financial report generation module, system permission&log maintenance module, iPad terminal employee attendance module, etc. Through the integration of the whole business processes, it dramatically facilitates the users to input data, search information, analyzing statistics, preview information and print various reports.The author is responsible for the design and implementation of the first four modules of the system. The work could be summarized as follows:(1) During the requirements analysis phase, the author collected the business requirements from clients, verified the workflow.(2) During the design and implement phase, the author completed the design and development of following four core modules:1) For contract management module, the author implemented contract, region, post, and shift, hourly rate for post etc. information query, input and modification functions.2) For the employee management model, the author implemented employee information, hourly rate for employee and vocation query, input and modification functions.3) For the scheduling module, the author implemented employee work schedule making, query, modification, splitting functions.4) For the financial report module, the author implemented payroll report and 5) billing report generation functions.(3) During the system testing phase, the author defined the testing plan and wrote test cases, executed functional testing and performance testing, and generated test reports afterwards, then optimized the system performance according to the testing results.Now the labor management system has passed comprehensive functional testing and performance testing. And it has been officially launched and put into use at the moment. Its seamless combination of the workflow between departments, the efficient operation and the user friendly interface gained positive feedback from end users. The system has been proved to reach its expected design goals.
