The development and application of Jilin oilfield underground pipeline network, geographic information system (GIS) is digitizing the process flow diagram and the data ofthe water, electricity and the heating pipeline network and saving it in computer, offeringsearching, statistics, analysis, browsing function in graphics by network. By integrating thespatial data and attribute information, the GIS is built and used to perform locatingmanagement, providing guide for pipe network facilities maintenance, emergency treatment, project implementation etc., reducing time and amount of maintenance work, improvingefficiency and saving cost. This paper firstly introduced the research background and the development history andpresent status of Jilin oil field pipe network GIS. Then, the technology and method used in thedevelopment of oilfield public facilities management system, were introduced, including thedefinition, the advantages, the application model and core components of J2EE platform, the structure and function of the SeeMap GIS. The management of water, electricity, heatingpipe lines, affiliated facilities and ground buildings could be implemented efficiently by thissystem, with graphic information and data released by WebGIS system related to ID.Now, underground pipeline network in oilfield geographic information system has beensuccessfully applied to practice in Jilin oilfield. It can provide graphics and data in any query attribute combination for undergroundpipeline network, providing acurate location information. The pipe network system operationsafety has been guaranteed by the synchronous updating of the situation and data. And themodern management of water, electricity, heating pipe has been implemented.
