The Communication Of Public Safety Consciousness From The Perspective Of Mass Media

As people’s living standards are improving, people are increasingly concerned about their quality of life and self-safety. Since our economic development has not reached so much higher level that we cannot refuse some high-risk works. What’s more, we don’t have enough time and energy to notice the potential safety hazards, which leads to some security incidents in daily life. Most of people are prone to ignore safety issues, let alone to learn some knowledge of safety, which results in people’ weak safety consciousness. Moreover, most of people attribute some tragedies caused by weak safety consciousness to individual’s misfortune instead of taking people’s safety consciousness into consideration. Mass media, as an important communication medium, has many characteristics such as wide coverage, a variety of forms and having great influences on people’s life, which plays an indispensable role in improving people’s safety consciousness. Basing on the current situation of peoples’ safety consciousness and greater influences of mass media, the author aims to explore how to improve people’s safety consciousness effectively through mass media.This study analyzes the current situation of public safety consciousness firstly, and then points out some detriments caused by weak safety consciousness as well as explores the problems and reasons that exist in the improvement of public safety consciousness through mass media, which provides a clear clue to solve the problems.The study also analyzes the role and advantages of the mass media in raising awareness of public safety, through which the problems of public safety consciousness will be solved. The study focuses on exploring the issue from the perspective of mass media. which aims at giving some effective suggestions for improving public safety consciousness through mass media.
