With the development of digital technology in the information age, great changes havetaken place in the form of media, New Media Game emerged as the times require. With thepopularity of new media terminals, more and more children come into contact with mobilephones and tablet computer from their parents, whose attitude to whether their childrenshould play games has changed. Especially for3to6years old children, their parents arewilling to offer them some useful new media games. With the promotion of the terminal leveland games, children’s demand rising, more and more puzzle games will be chosen by3to6years old children and their parents.This research is divided into three parts. Firstly, the theoretical part mainly includes thesummary of intelligence factors and the influence of these factors on children’s development.Based on the understanding of the essence of the game, to find out the basic definition of newmedia puzzle games for children and analysis the suitability about children playing puzzlegames in new media terminals on the basis of psychology. Summarizes the classification andkey characteristics of children’s new media puzzle game, supplemented by cases.In the user research part, through the analysis of survey results, combined with fieldsurvey, deeply find out three to six years old children’s habits, and explore their parents’expectations at the same time. Combined with representative data on children’s gamingexperience and game preferences, they concern the operability and dynamic picture of gamesprimarily, while their parents concern more about the puzzles, safety and funs. The surveyalso found that parents always do assistance, cooperation, and accompanying guidance duringchildren’s gaming. Through the observation of children playing typical games, tap theirgaming habits deeply, to provide a basis for design research.In the part of design research, based on the UCD idea, combined with the method ofgame design and new media terminal application design as a reference, to summarize mainprinciples of new media puzzle game interface design, visual design, interactive design forthree to six years old children, offer some methods of game addiction protection. Finally,make a summary in the end of paper, and trying to do some practices.
