Many scholars home and abroad have focused on the influences of micro-blog on college students in the past few years, however, few of them pay attention to analyze the micro-blog’s influences on interpersonal relationship and public opinions among college users from the perspective of communication in combine with theories in psychology and sociology. From the perspective of communication, this paper is aimed at ascertaining if micro-blog communication would promote expanding college users’ social circles in real life and if opinion leaders play a role in guiding college students’ public opinions.This research adopts a questionnaire to investigate the behavior of college micro-blog users and influences of micro-blog on110college students in the Guangxi Normal University (involving the Yanshan Campus and Yucai Campus). The present study is intended to identify:Data analysis of the users’behaviors for better understanding micro-blog’s influences; there are two sections:1. Micro-blog’s influences on interpersonal relationship, to be more specific, if micro-blog can expand college users’ social circles in real life;2. the function of opinion leaders on college micro-blog users’ public opinion, especially if opinion leaders would play greater influences on higher level of college users. Excel is used to calculate the quantitative data. The statistical results of the study indicate that:(1) There is a large proportion of college students, accounts for73.4%, who have micro-blog accounts. It indicates that micro-blog may just meet the demands of modern people. College students also become the frequent weibo users. (2) The study on interpersonal communication shows that:the number of users concerned more than five hundred people just accounts for3.8percent, also the number of followers more than five hundred people accounts for8.8percent. What’s more,67.5%of constant contacts are made up of friends or classmates. Therefore, micro-blog can’t expand college students’social circles greatly but do strengthen college students’ interpersonal relationship in reality.(3) On the relationship between opinion leaders’influence and the influence on higher levels of college micro-blogs users, statistics shows that there isn’t positive correlation between them.The results indicate that micro-blog have influences both on college students’ interpersonal communication and speech act. Thus, the author concludes positive and negative influences of micro-blog on college students. The author also proposes some suggestions from the aspect of college micro-bloggers, opinion leaders and media management mechanism to guide college students how to use micro-blog reasonably.
