The text takes story books in the Ming dynasty as the object of study, and picks up the typical books of these two types to research. Firstly, from the angle of publication history, I will analyze the feature of editing and publishing of the story books. The story books in the Ming dynasty have prominent features in illustrations and format, and to be innovated according to the need. In the content, they collected the influential figures’deeds or allusions, and according to the needs of the times constantly expanded and perfected. In the aspect of compilation and sales, owners of the book workshop gave full play to creativity to meet the needs of the market. Many existing stories of the Ming Dynasty’s story books were printed by the Jian yang bookshops, researches on the story books in the Ming dynasty can deepen the understanding of the bookshops in Jian yang. Secondly, from the perspective of the history of education, the story books in the Ming dynasty played an important role in children’s education. The books which focused on the collection of figures’deeds gave full play to the function of enlightenment. Finally, from the perspective of social and cultural history, the books reflected the court and civil morality. Through the research of historical knowledge, the classic story of these books, we can deepen the understanding of the concept of culture, social customs, and social psychology at that time.
