Encyclopedia, as a special form of the Chinese traditional books, always bears a unique cultural importance within it. From the very beginning Wei Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, encyclopedia inflects the times characteristics of different dynasties. With the Four Books becoming the classics which weighs the most in the imperial examination system, and under the circumstances that the encyclopedia is inclining to reach the acme of its process, the Four-books-monographic encyclopedia gives its first appearance and prospers rapidly. The article sets the two books: and of Jiang-yong as the examples for the analysis to exert an initial study on the Four-books-monographic encyclopedia, thus intends to develop a comprehensive understanding to this particular type of the Chinese traditional books.
