With the growth in the living standard, people need more and more security.Access control systems have attracted much attention as an important component ofsafe protection system. Thanks to the rapid development of information technology,access control systems have been develop to biometric feature recognition with highersecurity from traditional entrance guard systems such as password entrance guardsystem, card entrance guard systems. Compare to other biometric feature recognitiontechnology like iris recognition, fingerprint recognition,etc, face recognition hasmany advantage such as simple acquisition devices, friendly to users, high anti-attackcapability and conforming to people’s habits. So, face recognition is widely used inthe public security protection information protection and management and many otherareas. In order to satisfy people’s security requirements, this paper designs a entranceguard control system based on face recognition technology.Firstly, after reading a lot of literature about entrance guard control system andface recognition technology, studying the development and problems of entranceguard control system and face recognition technology, we determine our system’srequirements and design aim, and design an overall design scheme of the system.Secondly, under the promise of meeting the system performance requirement, wedesign a hardware system using TMS320DM6446as code processor. The hardwaresystem design scheme mainly contain several functional modules: power supplyelectric circuit design of the system, code board design(SDRAM circuit, FLASHcircuit, interface design of code board and sub-system, etc), front-end systemdesign(image capture, image displayer and interaction system) and back-end systemdesign(video encoding and decoding, network interface, USB interface, UARTinterface, etc).Then, we design the software system of the entrance guard system. Softwaredesign involve recognition algorithm studying, driver program develop and relatedsoftware design. In this paper, we propose a recognition algorithm and analysis itsfeasibility and dominance according to some experiments. The results show that thisalgorithm is practicable, and it has strong robustness to noises. For the driverdevelopment, this paper mainly concern on image acquisition module driver designwhich include camera driver, VPFE driver and TVP5158driver. Otherwise, the application software designs contain several module program developments: entranceguard control program, ID card reading program and Ethernet program, etc.Lastly, related testing is implemented on this face recognition entrance guardsystem. The testing including hardware test and software test, feasibility test. Thetesting results show that the hardware system and software modules work well. Itmeets the product requirements of entrance guard system, and reach the expectedgoals of our design tasks.
