Research And Design On Embedded Face Recognition Entrance Guard System

Face recognition one of the important topic in the field of pattern recognition, which has been widely used in the field of entrance guard system, security system, attendance systems, detection of criminal cases.Along with social progress, technological development, and office automation, building automation,people look forward to higher requirements for access control system.So embedded face recognition access control system comes out along with it.Face recognition system consists of three parts which is face detection, feature extraction and face classification.Face detection and orientation, is to find a face in the input image, mark the position of face,separate the face area from the image background. In feature extraction part, firstly face feature is extracted from the original face, and then the dimension-less effective characteristics of face data is represented and stored in the face database. Lastly face classification, the characteristic data of the image for testing face image compared with the characteristic data stored in the database to determine whether a person from the face library, so as to achieve the aim of automatic recognize faces.In this paper, the entrance guard system based on face recognition is studied and designed. First of all, the development situation of face recognition technology and control access system at home and abroad are expounded,and analyzed the typical algorithm in the proceed of face recognition. According to embedded face recognition system’s functional requirements, selecting S3C2440B as the microprocessor and selecting ZC301P camera as the capturing image’s device, and choose other chips,then do an overall design of the hardware framework and draw the schematic diagram. Second,this system use Linux as the operating system, in the PC setup the cross-compilation environment, then we cut U-boot, the Linux kernel, and program and port related device driver and make a root file system, builds a good software platform of embedded Linux system. Porting the OpenCV library is ready to run the face recognition program,as to make a good foundation for perfecting the whole system.
