Under the background of era of digital information technology, computer technology, image processing technology and intelligent household control technology is widely used in our life, such as visual intercom access control system. In order to ensure the personnel’s information security when they are in the jurisdiction area with the entrance guard system, and enhance system’s efficiency of discriminating personnel’s identity, the researcher began to adopt continuously biometric technology, so as to gradually replace the traditional mode of password button and induction card. Among them, the face recognition technology is becoming research hotpot in the field of access control, and the mode will greatly expand the development space of access control management system by the virtue of efficient and secure identification.The paper will briefly introduce the face recognition technology and the visual intercom access control management system; we are combining the technology type of access control management system and the technical characteristics of facial recognition now, and discussing in-detail the method and progress of using face recognition technology in the system. On the hardware side, the system adopt TQ6410embedded development board,which pick up Samsung S3C6410processing chip, thesis will describe system’s architecture and main function of ARM microprocessor architecture,and the main functions of the system’s hardware circuit. On the software side,we use the Windows CE operating system as embedded application development, and transplant the Open CV software to Windows CE system. Thesis will briefly introduce the definition and characteristic of embedded system, referral the architecture of Windows CE embedded application system and the booting process, and detailed introduce the whole process which include setting compile environment, transplanting Boot-loader and kernel, producing and transplanting the root file system and device driver, so as to provide a stable platform for the system, then research face image acquisition processing and recognition on the software platform.Finally, in accordance with the embedded system software and hardware development platform, we design and development of an entrance guard management system based on face recognition technology. In this paper, we will give the whole system hardware connection diagram and the software frame, according to the characteristics of its respective function, the whole system is divided into four modules, which are image acquisition, image processing, image recognition and access controller, and describe this modules in detail. At last, we extract different face information from the human, train and management this information. through designed the program of recognizing automatically face, make the linkage between facial recognition and the access control management, to ensure the stable operation of the entrance guard system.
