Along with the development of ACG industry, the group——"otaku" has been known and discussed as a group with all the negative label. In fact, the campus-"otaku" has always been negatively as a bad habit or unhealthy mental of undergraduates by most educators and experts. However, with all the criticisms and oppositions, the campus-"otaku" is growing quite well. It makes me think a lot of things:What are the otaku’s real lives? Weather they have some social values? How should we treat the campus-"otaku"The paper chooses the subculture to be a research method. Subculture studies originated from the Chicago school when they study the social problems in America especially Chicago. And the establishment of Bermingham Culture Research Center marked that Subculture studies starts sweeping. In this period, The Bermingham school nearly took a research on every Youth sub culture group, for example:teddy boys, hippie, rudd boys, hooligan, skin-heads, punk. And some scholar’s writings have become the classic of Cultural Studies. For example,《the Subculture:The Meaning of Style》, Be praised as the most influential writing by Simon During and Graeme Turner. China’s Subculture studies begin slowly, but as the development of internet, Youth sub culture group expand soon, so many scholars start to focus on them. Otaku is one of the groups. The Paper includes four chapters, the first chapter mainly sort out the concept of the Otaku, the second chapter scanned the group’s daily life on the method of Ethnography, the third chapter focus on the Characteristics of Otaku, and the last chapter wants to investigate their social values. From all the chapters, we can understand and recognize the campus "otaku" more rationally through scanning the group’s daily life on the method of Ethnography, analyzing its generated environment and unscrambling their styles.
