Research And Design On Control System Of Towel Folding Machine

With the development and progress of society, people’s living standards improved at the same time, they paid more attention to environmental protection and taste. In order to meet the changing times, napkins series used by restaurants and hotels in the past slowly fade out of sight and replaced by a sterile towels which can be recycled. Sterilized towels were packaged into a variety of forms to increase its beautiful level. A kind of towel folding form looked like an "egg roll", they were favored by consumers because of small size, easy to storage and transport. But due to the complexity of the "egg roll" towel folding process, the packaging progress mainly depended on artificial packaging, which would inevitably result in low productivity, poor health and a series of problems. So we need a mechanical device to replace the manual packaging, in order to improving productivity and packaging quality to meet the huge market demand. This paper designed a control system to realize the automation of folding progress in view of the "egg roll" towel folding machine movement requirements. The paper main research contents were as follows:1) On the base of analyzing "egg roll" packaging process, this paper studied the working principle of automatic feeding part, automatic folding part and automatic rolling part of towel folding machine, and analyzed the structure and movement of towel folding machine.2) Designed a pneumatic circuit system according to the action require of towel folding machine pneumatic components. Proposed a reasonable electric drive solution for towel folding machine and electrical control system. In accordance with the design principles of cabinet, overall arrange of its components in cabinet. Designed the control panel of towel folding machine, and wiring for various electrical components. So completed the construction of the hardware of control system3) Analyzed of the control requirements of automatic feeding part, automatic folding part and automatic rolling part, and wrote PLC control program according to the motion requirements.4) Wrote test program to debug the towel folding machine. Test the towel folding machine in the guidance of establishing testing standards of "egg roll" towel in order to evaluate the overall performance of the towel folding machine.Experimental results showed that towel folding machine run stable and reliable, did well in feeding, folding and rolling processes, and did not need manual operation in whole processes. In addition, the efficiency of the towel folding machine basically reached the average level of skilled workers. Most importantly, the machine could work24hours one day.The folding machine in this paper could improve the folded towel quality, and also reduced the production cost, and the operation was simple and convenient. All in all, it had some profit in the market and great future in the application.
