This project is a cooperate project to do together with a company. The purpose is todesign a real-time image acquisition and display system used in military vehicles for thecompany, workers can see the image from the LCD screen in the cab of the vehicle, thus theycan observe and detect the circumstances outside of the military vehicle.This system is a typical machine vision system, which involves the camera interface,image acquisition and image processing. In accordance with the relevant requirements, thesystem one side is connected with1394b camera, the other hand is connected with a PC viaCamera Link cable, the real-time acquired image can be displayed on the LCD monitor clear.We analysis the ways of the real-time image acquisition and display, and ultimately determinethe topic way is based on “Camera+PCIE frame grabber+FPGA”. In design,we choose theprogrammable logic device FPGA as core controller, the SDRAM、SRAM memory as theexternal cache, Quartus II12.0is used as the programming development platform,VerilogHDL hardware description language for FPGA, thus the system can control eachmodule. In order to achieve the video chear and completing,no splash screen,no interencefringes, and the function interface can be switched casually by Qt.In the hardware design process, we draw circuit diagrams by Altium Designer, wechoose chips to make PCB board. Then we assemble the system, to adjust the cameraparameters, the system debugger to meet the project expectations.Since the machine vision can replace people in some dangerous environment, and it canimprove efficiency and degree of automation, machine vision system is the first choice for thearmored vehicles in harsh environment. In today’s highly developed degree of automation,machine vision applications are quite extensive, this project is a good vision product whichcan be applied in cars as the reverse device displaying the real-time image, it also can be usedin some monitoring situations. This project combines with the image splicing and fusion, wecan achieve a360degree real-time image, it has a very important significance in military.
