With the development of electronic technology, all kinds of measuring instrument test system real-time performance and precision demand is higher and higher. Due to the bad real-time performance,bad signal processing and large volume of the traditional test instruments, they don’t meet the requirements of today’s test instrument system. FPGA has parallel computing characteristics and its operation speed is fast, DSP can realize very complicated algorithm and control peripheral devices easier. Combining with the advantages of DSP and FPGA, we use FPGA+ DSP architecture mainstream technology to meet the real-time, complex algorithm and accuracy requirements in the instrument test system.This topic study the application of FPGA based on the phase detecting method of phase noise test system and image acquisition system. In order to meet the real-time requirements, we take FPGA + DSP architecture to design these systems. In this paper, the main work is the realize the functions needed in the test system by using FPGA.In the phase noise measurement system based on phase detecting method, the research focus on phase detecting method of phase noise test method, and carries on the detailed theoretical derivation; under the control of the FPGA, completed the configuration of the work pattern of high-speed ADC acquisition boards and functions of data acquisition; in the FPGA, completed high-speed data cache handling, including the FIFO buffer of data and storing the data into the DDR3 SDRAM memory chips for DSP to read in the right time; studied the principle of integral comb filter theoretically, with the aid of Matlab tools, completed the integral comb filter design. According to the integral comb filter structure, completed Verilog HDL code design simulation implementation. Behind the integral comb filter, we add a FIR filter for further smooth filtering; completed the simulation of packet transmission of the Rapid IO communication interface between FPGA and DSP.In the image acquisition measurement system, the FPGA acts as a bridge interface. In this measurement system, described the block diagram and function of the system and the Camera Link and PAL interface are introduced in details; completed the Camera Link and PAL schematic of the interface design; completed Camera Link interface and encoded PAL signal interface data transfer module design in FPGA,and transfer the data to video port of DM6467 T.FPGA play an important role in the two systems. The FPGA can not only complete timing control for many different interface, and digital filter and data cache handling can be achieved within the FPGA, greatly improving the real-time requirements of the system. Rich pin, many kinds of standard interfaces and programmable interface voltage greatly reduce the volume of the system.
