The natural damage of Gansu Museum’s antiques are caused by the deteriorationof its material,while the effect of museum’s environmental factors will lead to variousforms of antique deterioration.So in essence,the protection of antique is the culturalrelics’s protection depend on itself materials. This paper makes a preliminary analysison the factors which have important influence on the collections of cultural relics,suchas temperature, relative humidity, light, air pollutants, microorganisms and insects. Onthe basis of systematic analysis of preservative environment for the antiques in Gansuprovince’s96museums,we summarizes the adverse factors affecting Gansu’s antiquespreservation and display,as well as the practical issues. At the same time, we alsocombine with the state cultural relics bureau key scientific research base’s (ShanghaiMuseum) related research achievements,such as the preventive protection of themovable heritages,product technology,and so on. We adopt the scientific, advanced,economical and operational as principles, and based on the actual situation of GansuMuseum, and make the breakthrough point in the application of the antique of GansuMuseum’s protective environment,in order to identify the environment technologyand preventive measures which suitable for Gansu dry environment and improve thepreservation of the antiques,such as temperature and humidity monitoring andregulation, gas purification, lighting, showcase’s micro environment control, antique’spreservative facilities etc.Then take active preventive measures to minimize theadverse influence factors as much as possible.
