The transmission capacity of optical fiber communication has improved from thedozens of Mbps to the current10Tbps, but with the limitation of electrical bottleneck, the growth speed of information processing capability is far behind the transmissioncapacity at the network node. Thus cause an extreme unbalance development betweenthe transmission and routing technology. So the information processing speed inoptical network node has become a key factor for improving the whole communicationnetwork. This article studied on how to improve the information processing speed inoptical network node, the specific content as follows:Firstly, this paper introduces the development of optical switching technologies, including optical circuit switching, optical burst switching and optical packetswitching etc. After analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of them, a novelrouting technology of multi-granularity switching based on parallel processing ispresented.Secondly, the structure of multi-granularity optical switching based on parallelprocessing optical label and parallel-processing optical-code label switching paths(PP-OC-LSPs) are studied in detail. Including the structure of multi-granularity opticalcross-connect, the routing resource assignment of multi-granularity optical switchingnetwork, and the architecture of PP-OC-LSPs, processing principle of PP-OC-LSPs.The address code and codecs in optical code division multiplexing system are alsoanalyzed.Lastly, this paper analyzes the performance of the multi-granularity opticalswitching based on parallel processing routing technology. Including the blocking rate, bit error rate, packet loss rate, throughput, and compared with optical code divisionmulitiplexing (OCDM) paths technology. Routing select problem with or without thetunnels is analyzed by Matlab. We use OPNET to verify the data packet transmissionrate of the network end to end delay, and the effect of link utilization. Through thetheoretical analysis and software simulation, the multi-granularity switching based on parallel processing routing technology is superior and feasible.
