Nowadays, the single fiber's transmission capacity has reached10Tb/s. Theswitching technology based on electronics has not satisfied the current requirement ofcommunication, which has become the bottleneck. In order to increase the switching rateand the bandwidth utilization rate, some experts present all optical routing.First, the switching technologies of OBS, OPS, OLS and OCDM path are introduced. After analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of them, a novel routing technology, ofwhich routing information can be processed in parallel with a way of making the label andpayload encoded and decoded separately, is presented based on WDM/OCDM technology. The data packets are routed and forwarded by the label's recognition and switching. Theseparated payload which is only processed in edge node will be sent into the optical cacheunit waiting to be distributed a new label, then transports to next destination node. In thesame wavelength channel, different users are distinguished by OCDM technology usingspecific codes. The different user's payloads can overlap on one wavelength channel, andonly the matched user will be decoded and recovered. These features are very suitable forthe parallel processing.Second, on the base of studying the previous label extraction techniques, a new wayto separate label and payload based on optical polarity is proposed. In the edge code, thelabel and payload are modulated on TE mode and TM mode, respectively. When thepackets reach the core node, the label and payload with different modes are separated byoptical polarization splitter. The process is simulated by the communication softwareOptisystem. At last, the formula of system's packet loss probability is derived. Furthermore, thesystem performance is also simulated by Matlab in theory, comparing with the opticalpacket switching router in the fields of bit-error-rate, packet loss probability andthroughput.
