Based on a network structure and a static IP resource database, an Enterprise NetworkResource Management System is used for IP resource management and real-time monitoring.Network administrators can enable the enterprise network to be more scientific and standardizedby monitoring and managing the end users and IP resources. We use the modular design idea to implement the entire system. For example, following theprinciples of software engineering, we divide the whole system into several subsystems from top todown, and carefully design those subsystems. Functional modules of the system include securityand safety of both the host network IP network resources, including four modules: remotemonitoring, local control, and static management and toolsets. Combined with the development ofOSI network management standards, we also develop the following four enterprise networkmanagement functions: configuration management, performance management, fault management, and security management. In addition, because the static IP resource database is the foundation of remote monitoring andauthentication, its accuracy, timeliness and completeness will directly affect the results of remotemonitoring feedback. We then make a careful design of the database and maintenance. As thissystem is mainly used in a private enterprise local area network, we use the NetBIOS interface andWinSocket socket technology. With DELPHI6.0development tools, a product of INPRISE(formerly called Borland) company, we use prototype method to build an original model of theentire project. After that we use an incremental approach to iteratively develop according to actualdemands until the completion of all the functions and then combine them into a complete system.Currently, the system has been formally launched and begins to generate real profits.
