Passive optical network is in no need for energy consumption of the deviceby using optical fiber between the central office and the user terminals. This caneffectively prevent bad environmental such as electromagnetic from the devicesand reduce the problems of the system. It makes us get the better networkcommunication quality. It can also save human and material costs and havebecome necessary technology for telecommunications and other related sectors.Gigabit passive optical network based on passive optical netwo rk offersunprecedented bandwidth whose maximum bandwidth is up to2.5Gbps and is inQos quality assurance. It can improve the quality of integrated services, lots ofbusiness management and network monitoring capabilities in the access network.Today it is the major technology to achieve broadband access network. Theoptical network terminal is named as optical cat. It whose number is large is inthe entire gigabit network terminals. It can normally work after completing thebasic configuration. However, it costs lots of cost. To solve this problem, thepaper proposes a system who can better work in no configuration.This article first tells us the concepts and network structure of GPON, andanalyzes management mechanisms between the terminal and office, and OMCI.Then the management control system hardware has been designed. Software isdesigned based on the hardware system, including the design of alarms andperformance management.Then ONT system is verified in functions ofmanagement and control. We verify performance monitoring including statisticalfunctions, and the MIB validation, alarm function. It realizes remote maintenancein the central office when OLT manages ONT.
