Based On Snmp Gpon Network Management System Design And Realization

The gigabit-capable passive optical network (GPON) will be the most cost-effective method for Access Network. It is important to provide a stable and effective Network Management System for GPON. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a popular and widely used protocol for monitoring the health and welfare of network equipment. This paper proposes the design and solution of a SNMP-based Network Management System architecture of GPON.The main contents are as follows:1.Introduce the structure of GPON, depict the demand of access network management, and analyze the difference of 3 broad-band access network management solutions.2.Propose the design of a SNMP-based Network Management System architecture of GPON and describes the optical network termination(ONT) management and control interface(OMCI) and the transmission method of operations administration and maintenance (OAM) information on the control and management plane of GPON.3.Design and implement the solution for both agent and manager of the GPON network management system by using SNMP.4.Test the performances on main functions, analyze the testing.
