Ceramic crown rollers which are made from ceramic materials can not only beused in some complex environments, such as high temperature, corrosiveness, but alsosolve the phenomenon of the edge-effect which appears at both ends of the cylindricalroller, and then profoundly lengthened the life span of bearing. Due to many problems,such as low automation and complex process, exist in the equipment which is used toprocess ceramic crown rollers, therefore, a control system which can work out ceramiccrown rollers has been designed, and it can be operated easily and high automation.Based on both the process requirements of ceramic crowned roller and workingprinciple, functional demands of the ultra lapping machine, the control system ofceramic roller super lapping machine has been designed. In the control system, itchooses a particular logarithmic function as a modification curve of ceramic crownrollers, the ultrasonic processing device is used to remove convex metric parts of eachroller, PLC command and coordinate correct operation of the whole control system,process parameter settings and data display can be performed through touch screen.The major control system of the ceramic roller ultra lapping machine is composedof PLC and touch screen. PLC is the core of the control system of the ceramic rollersuper lapping machine, it can respectively communication with touch and frequencytransformer through the RS485bus, and realize the control of two stepper motor driversand a frequency transformer. The work mode of the PLC control system, which isincluding manual control and automatic control. You can debug equipment and single-step process for crowned roller in manual mode, and you can make it automaticallyprocess crown roller on the basis of the requirement of process. Human-machineinterface is designed by EB8000software, we can finish roller parameter settings, andstatuses supervise system, display progress, data storage and other functions with it.Both operational tests and experimental results show that the control system ofthe ceramic roller ultra lapping machine has many advantages, such as high reliability, good stability, friendly human-machine interface, and it can work out crown rollers withparticular logarithmic function.
