With the development of technology, many emerging technologies appear, such as the multi-touch technique which is considered as a new breakthrough for human computer interaction. Touching gesture interaction is a natural and intuitive interaction way that changes the single mouse operation of traditional graphical user interlace. However.current touch technology still can not avoid the low precision of the finger directly click, hand block and long operating fatigue, and current touch user interface design is still dependent on WIMP paradigm of traditional graphical user interface. What’s more, there are few studies of touching gesture interaction on its generalized definition and design. The WIMP paradigm is not entirely suitable for touch technology, but the interactive components such as buttons, icons are still the important elements of the touch interface that hosts the application of information gestures are the key to touch interaction. So this paper focuses on the usability of touch interlace paradigm, the research goal is to improve the natural and smooth interaction. The main research works in the paper are described as follows:First, this paper analyzes the technology, theory, models, principles and methods involved in the touch user interface paradigm research, discusses the touch user interface as an important part of the development prospects of the natural user interface. The touch technology development history, research status and the encountered problems are analyzed.Second, this paper explores the interactive features of the touch user interface, classifies and summaries on the static interface elements in the mainstream mobile touch interactive platform, abstracts the elements for touch operation paradigm, proposes touch interaction paradigm based on the Post-WIMP environment:PBIS paradigm.Third, this paper describes the features of PBIS paradigm in two aspects from the information presentation and interactive way and compares with the traditional WIMP paradigm to explain the limitations of the WIMP paradigm for guiding the touch user interface design, and also expresses the advantages of the PBIS paradigm.Fourth, this paper provides the design and implementation of a prototype system for touch technology based on the new paradigm, and gives the usability evaluation of this system.
