Research On BPI Of Chain Supermarkets’ Distribution Center Based On The Iot Technology

As competition in chain supermarkets grows increasingly fierce, distribution center (DC)has become the significant basis and guarantee of sustainable development of chain operation.However, because of unreasonable process and lagging informatization level, the advantagesof DC have not been fully brought into play. Internet of Things (IOT) serves as a newgeneration of information technology, the use of which in DC will improve the logisticsoperational efficiency significantly, reduce the total cost of logistics and provide excellentservice that could not be provided before. Due to what has been talked above, based on IOTtechnology, this article presents the research on the business process improvement of chainsupermarkets’ DC so as to solve traditional DC process problems with a fresh approach andopen up a new research perspective for chain supermarkets logistics distribution.The train of thought of the article is carried out surrounded by PDCA from beginning toend. First, cross function flowchart method is used to analyze DC process and problems inoperational efficiency, service quality, logistics cost and customer satisfaction are pointed out.Second, learning from successful experience of the developed countries in using IOTtechnology in the DC of chain businesses, this article presents the goals and the principles ofimproving our DC process according to the reality of our country. Third, built on the theory ofchain operation, modern logistics management and business process improvement, the articleimproves DC process with the help of ESIA, RFID, GPS/GIS, WSN, Agent and so force,which makes it more precise, more efficient and more automatic. Last, improved advices areproposed according to the objective conditions of Vanguard’s northwest DC, which providessome reference to those similar enterprises to improve DC process with IOT technology.
