Strapdown inertial integrated navigation system is a very complex, precision electronic system.Its reliability is directly affected by the status of its core equipment, strapdown navigation computer,which is operated to finish navigation solution function. A highly automated test system is required tomeet the demands for rapid field test and fault diagnosis in the process of navigation computerproduction and maintenance. An embedded navigation computer test system is researched based onthe analysis of test requirements for some strapdown inertial navigation computer. A navigationcomputer test system platform is implemented with the frame of FPGA and PCI and its functionalsoftware is also completed. The navigation computer test system is tested systematically and analysedwith the test data.The navigation computer test system based on the frame of FPGA and PCI is researched to meetthe demands for the great reliability, versatility and multi-interface. The system is controlled by PCprogram. In the system, the FPGA chip is designed for the function of multi-interface expansion andthe PCI chip is used to bridge the PCI bus and the local bus.The scheme about the serial communication interfaces’ online configuration in the system isstudied and realized to meet the requirement for the commonality of the serial communicationinterfaces, which enhance the succession and universality of the system. The compass calibrationfunction and online navigation software update function are researched and designed to improve theautomation and convenience in the course of the maintenance of the navigation computer.When the hardware and software of the system have been implemented, the function andperformance of the navigation computer test system is verified to meet the requirements of practicalengineering application through the complete system test plan.
